Why Should I Go On?
A Question Of Hope
You and I both know that there are difficult seasons of life. Sometimes those seasons of life are short; other times they are long. But when you are going through those long, dark nights, you start to wonder, how on earth am I supposed to keep going? The feeling of hopelessness begins to creep in, and you start to feel worthless.
When we have those moments in which we are going through the valley of the shadow of death, as Psalm 23 says, let us hold on with confidence that God is with us. God is our protector and gives us hope when our circumstances feel hopeless.
When I read Isaiah 41:8-10, I feel the weight of life fall off my shoulders. All the work that God does gives me hope about the future because my future is not dependent on what I can do. My future is only dependent on what God does. My future is safe and secure because God chooses me, God moves me, God strengthens me, God helps me, and God holds me up. Wow! God does all of that to make sure we are safe and do not need to fear.
We ask our final question this week: why should I go on? The simple answer is because God is with you every step of the way. Have hope for the future because God is the one with the future in His righteous right hand.
