New Members Class
Our 4-week New Members Class covers the core values and beliefs of FBC Gonzales. After completing the class, new members become a new Bible study group led by an established church member. In so doing, we integrate new members into our core value of Bible study.
There are three ways to become a member of FBC Gonzales. In any case, we ask that all candidates for membership also attend our New Members' Class.
1. Baptism
Baptism is the first act of obedience after becoming a Christ follower. You can join the church by becoming a follower of Christ and then being baptized.
2. Membership Transfer
If you are already a Christ follower, have been baptized, and are a member of another Baptist church, you can join our church by requesting membership and providing us with information about your previous membership. Then, we contact your former church to receive confirmation of your prior membership there.
3. Statement of Faith
If you are a Christ follower and are baptized, but for some reason have not been part of a church, you can join by Statement of Faith. Joining by Statement of Faith means that you share the same core beliefs as FBC Gonzales and agree to follow those principles in your life.
