What Is The Purpose Of Life?

A Question Of Meaning

Our purpose in life comes from knowing Jesus Christ and doing good works for him. These works do not save us; salvation only comes from God’s work. These works, however, have been prepared by God for us to do beforehand. Did you catch that? When we serve the poor and witness to the lost, we are doing work which God already planned out for us. That means that the anxiety you feel in helping others and leading them to Christ is unnecessary. God has already planned out the work! All you have to do is walk down the path.

Over the past couple of months, my family has been getting meal kits that you regularly see advertised on TV. We get a box of fresh food in the mail every week with recipes to follow to make dinner. I have made some great meals over the past few months simply by following the recipe and using the ingredients that came in the box.

To find meaning in life, God has already laid out the plan for you. What we need to do is follow the recipe and use the ingredients he has given us. Cooking up what God gives us does not save us, but it helps us find the meaning and purpose in life that we are searching for. We are created to do good works and follow God’s recipe for our life.
