Paul was 100% committed to getting the Jerusalem Collection to Jerusalem. His friends and co-workers in Christ begged him not to go. They knew the chances were high he’d be arrested in Jerusalem. But Paul was unpersuaded. Paul also knew the chances, but he was committed to the cause of delivering the collection himself, no matter what.

Are you committed to giving everything for the cause of Christ? Giving money is usually the easiest thing to give. Time, energy, mental power… those resources are a lot more difficult. It’s easy to write a check. It’s hard to give up your Wednesday night after a long day of work to tell kids about Jesus. It’s hard to mentor a person who is trying to be a single parent and move forward in life. The problems in our community cannot be solved just by giving money. We must give everything and let God use us to bring about change.

Paul could have sent someone else with the money, and he would have remained free. Instead, he was so committed, he went to Jerusalem knowing what awaited him. Are you that committed to the cause of the Kingdom of God?
